Environment Render

Here is the close to final shot of the environment I'm working on with Quinton and Monique. I did the modeling/texturing for the bridges and trees, the matte painting, and the overall scene lighting. The flythrough will be posted in a while.

  1. Alright, critique time. This looks well done. However, there are somethings i think you guys could work on after you submit it. First, the blade grass that is going through the bridge. I'm a little confuse as to what material the buildings are made of. They look a little matte base. If that's the case it you got it on point. The specular of the bridge should be varied (it looks like you applied solid specular.) The daisy tops are a little too bumpy. You could maybe make fur for them or smooth out the bump a little to make them look like fur. More subsurface on the petals. Also, on the stem the light should hug the surface(like velvet) a little bit more.I want to tell you to do something about that building to the right because my eyes are mostly drawn to the left and I barely notice that building. All in all, good work.

  3. I still really like this. I'd love to work on environment concepts with you guys. The staircase around the flower is my favorite. My only Critiq is I think the building inside the tree in the back gets a little lost and the environment needs a better transition to the matte painting in the back. But yea- I really love this. Very Surrel
